I had a thought today that stopped me cold and broke my own heart.

It was one of those thoughts that represents all the selfishness and cruelty that humans are capable of... one that challenged any idea of humans being inheretly good, or atleast this human. And one that came too easily to be not natural to me. One that made me want a hug.. to assure me that I still was lovable.

How and why I could think myself worthy of love after a thought like that is an amazing trait of humanity. Our ability to delude ourselves and dilute our worthlessness to a measure of 'less than others' is deplorable, and yet, it is a defining trait of our ablitiy to survive this world and ourselves.*

And so I will go to bed tonight, only slightly haunted by myself; able to sleep because I admitted the horror of my most natural self. Feeling myself cleansed by my ability, over countless unknown others, to say I would be haunted at all by my thoughts. That the act of my admitting my guilt makes me, in fact, more human and worthy of love. Forgetting that I was damned by the thought at all.

*watch here as I make the switch from comdemnation to a curious form of honor- granting myself pardon through the sheer humanity of the thought and therefor, my goodness. Aren't I awesome?!

Do you remember learning fun little acronyms for the nine planets?

Sad, but true, Pluto is no longer deemed worthy to be a planet. And to add insult to injury, they have already found our beloved Pluto's replacement. Bastards.
